Christmas Book Haul!

Hi everyone❤︎

Merry Christmas!!! I hope everybody is spending this wonderful day with loved ones ❤︎ I would just like to apologise for being so inactive on this blog. I’ve been very busy lately and I’ve been taking a break from social media for a while. But I think I’ve finally gotten out of my blogging slump and I’m eager to start again. So let’s begin the book haul! This year, I’ve received 5 books for Christmas. I’m so incredibly grateful to have such a loving family who understand my books needs. Here goes:

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition by Jim Kay- THIS BOOK IS MY PRECIOUS BABY WHICH I WILL PROTECT AT ALL COSTS!!!! I know I’m a little late getting this book, but I’m so excited to finally own my own copy. I can’t wait to read through it 🙂

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

Hate List by Jennifer Brown

None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Fun Fact:  It’s coming up to my 1 year blog anniversary! I started this blog on January 21, 2016 and I’m so happy I did. In 2017, I’m going to make a real effort to try and blog every week.

Have you read any of these books? How was your Christmas? Let me know in the comments below❤︎

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes- I’m currently reading this book. Guys, please don’t burn me alive but…. I saw the movie first. Yes, yes, I know it’s a book sin, but I don’t regret it one bit. I absolutely loved the movie and it actually convinced me to move this book to the top of my tbr list. Win!

December/January Book Haul!!!

Cupslice-07022016052151

This is my first Book Haul that I have blogged! Sorry, I did it pretty late. This book haul is a combination of December/January(Minus Christmas gifts) Unfortunately, I have not read a single one of these books yet, I have been too busy reading my books from the library. I have included the blurb of each book. Here goes:PicsArt_02-06-05.42.13

  1.  Just Listen-Sarah Dessen                                                                                            Back of the Book blurb: I’m Annabel. I’m the girl who has it all. Model looks, confidence, a great social life. I’m one of the lucky ones. Aren’t I? My ‘best friend’ is spreading rumors about me. My family is slowly falling apart. It’s turning into a long, lonely summer; full of secrets and silence. But I’ve met this guy who won’t let me hide away. He’s one of the intense types, obsessed with music. He’s determined to make me listen. But can he help me forget what happened the night everything changed?
  2. Double Decker: Double act and Bad girls- Jacqueline Wilson                                   Back of the Book blurb- Double Act: Ruby and Garnet are ten-year-old twins. They’re identical, and they do EVERYTHING together, especially since their mother died three years earlier – but they couldn’t be more different. Bossy, bouncy, funny Ruby loves to take charge, and is desperate to be a famous actress, while quiet, sensitive, academic Garnet loves nothing more than to curl up with one of her favourite books. And when everything around the twins is changing so much, can being a double act work for ever?                                                                                       Back of the book blurb- Bad girls: Shy, mild Mandy has been bullied at school for as long as she can remember. That’s why she is delighted when cheeky, daring, full-of-fun Tanya picks her as a friend.Mum isn’t happy – she thinks Tanya’s a BAD GIRL and a bad influence on her daughter. But Mandy loves spending time with her brilliant new friend, and is sure Tanya can only get her out of trouble, not into it . . . or could she?
  3. Dustbin Baby- Jacqueline Wilson                                                                                 Back of the Book blurb: My name is April. April Showers- that’s my nickname at school now. At least it’s better than April Fool. And it’s much, much better than Dustbin Baby… I don’t know where I came from, or who I really am. All I know is that I was abandoned as a tiny baby in a rubbish bin. I’m safe with my foster mother now- but if only I could find my real mother, somehow…
  4. Thirteen reasons why- Jay Asher                                                                                Back of the Book Blurb: Clay Jensen returns home to find a strange package with his name on it. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker- his classmate and first love- who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah’s voice explains there are thirteen reasons why she killed herself. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out why. All through the night, Clay keeps listening- and what he discovers changes his life… Forever.
  5. Oh Yeah, Audrey!- Tucker Shaw                                                                                 Back of the Book blurb: She’s wearing the perfect black dress and has coffee and pastry in hand, just like the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Gemma has traveled to New York, and so have her fellow bloggers at Oh Yeah, Audrey!– a blog devoted to all things Audrey Hepburn-to live out a Breakfast at Tiffany’s- inspired twenty- four- hour adventure. But when a glamorous boy sweeps in and offers Gemma the chance to experience New York the way she’s only seen in movies, she soon learns that all that glitters isn’t gold.
  6. Weightless- Sarah Bannan                                                                                          Back of the Book blurb: Before Carolyn Lessing arrived, nothing much had ever  happened in Adamsville, Alabama. Each week, at dinner tables and in the high  school assembly, everyone would pray for the football team to win. Each year, the  Adams High hotlist would be updated, and girls would rise and fall within its ranks.  Each day, everyone lived by the unwritten rules that cheerleaders did not hang out  with the swim team, seniors did not date freshmen and the blistering heat was  something that should never be remarked upon. But then the new girl came.
All Carolyn’s social media could reveal was that she had moved from New Jersey,  she had 1075 friends – and she didn’t have a relationship status. In beach photos  with boys who looked like Abercrombie models she seemed beautiful, but in real life  she was so much more. She was perfect. This was all before the camera crews  arrived, before it became impossible to see where rumour ended and truth began,  and before the Annual Adamsville Balloon Festival, when someone swore they saw  the captain of the football team with his arm around Carolyn, and cracks began to  appear in the dry earth.PicsArt_02-07-03.05.33I won these two books from a book competition from a magazine company:
  7. Asking for it- Louise O’Neill                                                                                           Back of the Book blurb: It’s the beginning of summer, and Emma O’Donovan is eighteen years old, beautiful, happy, and confident. One night, there’s a party. Everyone is there. All eyes are on Emma. The next day, she wake son the front porch of her house. She doesn’t know how she got there. She doesn’t know why she’s in pain. But everyone else does. Photographs are taken at the party show- in great detail- exactly what happened to Emma that night. But sometimes people don’t want to believe what’s right in front of them, especially if the truth concerns the town’s heroes….
  8. Silence is Goldfish- Annabel Pitcher                                                                               Back of the Book blog: My name is Tess Turner – at least, that’s what I’ve always been told.I have a voice but it isn’t mine. It used to say things so I’d fit in, to please my parents, to please my teachers. It used to tell the universe I was something I wasn’t. It lied.It never occurred to me that everyone else was lying too. But the words that really hurt weren’t the lies: it was six hundred and seventeen words of truth that turned my world upside down.Words scare me, the lies and the truth, so I decided to stop using them.I am Pluto. Silent. Inaccessible. Billions of miles away from everything I thought I knew.
