Which Cover Wednesday #5

Hi everyone❤

Which Cover Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sue’s reading corner in which two different covers of the same book are compared to choose which one is better (in my opinion). Let’s begin:

  1. The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

    I have not read this book yet but it is on my TBR list. Both of these covers are very visually appealing, but I think I would have to go with the the 2nd (right) cover because of its simplicity and font.

2.  Something in Between by Melissa De La Cruz

Based on the plot, I would have to say that the 1st (left) cover fits better, but I personally prefer the the 2nd (right) cover. The colours work really well together and the font look so pretty.

3. The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

This is a very easy choice for me, I love the 1st (left) cover. The font, the colour scheme, the picture… it all works so well together and suits the theme of the book.

That’s all for this week:) Have you read any of these books? Tell which book cover you prefer❤

The Aussie Book Tag

Hi everyone❤

Today I’m going to be doing The Aussie Book Tag after I saw @headinherbooks do this tag on her blog. This tag was created by  @PicnicReads and @HappyComes. This seemed like a really fun tag to do and who doesn’t love showing some pride for their country 🙂 Let’s get started:

K O A L A

{A character you want to cuddle ALL DAY LONG}

I just want cuddle Maxon from ‘The Selection Series’. I love that series so much and Maxon is my favourite character. He is just so precious and charming and adorable *swoon*tumblr_n4jthmRAHp1sfk4d5o1_500.gif

V E G E M I T E

{A book you love that everyone else hates}

Hmm, this is quite a hard question to answer because I usually dislike books that other people love. After scrolling through my Goodreads and watching too many booktube videos to count, I would have to say ‘The Maze Runner”. Now, while I didn’t LOVE this book, I did enjoy it and wanted to continue the series. When I read (and listened) to some of the reviews, I was quite surprised to see that not many loved the book.  (Fun Fact:I hate vegemite).

S O C C E R O O S

 {Favourite fictional squad}

Okay, I’m going to go with the obvious of the Harry Potter squad. I loved reading Harry Potter when I was younger (still do) and I loved the friendship and dynamics between Harry, Ron and Hermione. It makes me nostalgic just thinking about it!

S O U T H E R N   C R O S S

{Most recent 5-star read}

I don’t give many books 5 stars, so my most recent book would have to be One by Sarah Crossan. I gave this book 4.5 stars, which is close enough 🙂belle

P A T R I O T I S M

{Favourite book by an author from your country}

I loved the book My Sister Rosa by  Justine Larbalestier. This is a great book by a great Australian author. Comment if you would like a review on it!Australian_Flag_Flying_animated.gif

E C H I D N A

{A book you like to look at, but it physically hurts to read}

This was another hard question as the books I don’t like usually don’t have nice covers either but one that comes to mind is The Accident Season by  Moïra Fowley-Doyle. The cover is quite creative and appealed to me, but I hated the book 😦

N E D  K E L L E Y

{A book that is really grim, but an iconic must-read}

I have 3 books for this question :Chinese CinderellaThe Diary of a Young Girl: Anne Frank and My Sister’s Keeper. All these books as so depressing but are absolute must-reads and I adored reading them (that sounds bad).

P A V L O V A

{A light, and fluffy book that you can’t help but love}

I can think of SOOO many books, but the first one that popped into my head was To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I absolutely loved this book and I’m pretty sure I read it in one sitting. This is such an adorable and sweet book. GO READ IT!!!

M I L O

{A genre/author you reach for to get you out of a reading slump}

Contemporary reads can always get me out of a slump. They are very light and easy reads that always make me feel happy afterwards 🙂

So that’s it for The Aussie Book Tag. I invite any of you to participate in this tag, whether you are Aussie or not!

I hope you enjoyed reading this tag as much as I’ve enjoyed doing it♡

Which Cover Wednesday #4

Hi everyone❤

Which Cover Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sue’s reading corner in which two different covers of the same book are compared to choose which one is better (in my opinion). Let’s begin:

  1. Room by Emma Donoghue

    I have read Room and own the cover on the right. I definitely prefer the colour and simplicity of the 1st (left) cover.

  2.  Stolen by Lucy Christopher

    I’m currently reading this book. Both of these covers don’t appeal to me very much, but I definitely prefer the font and design of the 1st (left) cover.

  3. Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

    I just finished this book and I really enjoyed it! It’s such a beautiful and emotional read. This is a really hard choice, as I love both these covers. Initially, I really liked the 1st(right) cover, but now I’m leaning more towards the 2nd (left) cover. Okay, I call it a tie. I love both these covers equally.

That’s all for this week:) Have you read any of these books? Tell which book cover you prefer❤

The Candy Book Tag

Hi everyone

I was nominated to do this tag by the lovely thinkingandinkingblog, Go check out her blog!❤ Here goes:

Guidelines:
  • When you are tagged, please thank the blogger who tagged you!
  • No one is obligated to participate, even if they are tagged.
  • If you decide to participate, answer the questions and then tag 5 other bloggers.
  • Please notify the people you’ve selected when they are tagged!

Apples – ah. It was deep, meaningful, probably won a lot of awards but, um, it really isn’t your thing

I’m going to have to go with the thinkingandinkingblog and also choose The Fault in Our Stars. I never knew what the big deal about this book (or the movie for that matter) was. I guess I’m not a real big fan of John Green’s writing style.

Black Jellybeans – why do these exist?

I can’t really think of anything. I guess I would have to say…. erotica, hahaha.

Chocolate Kisses – aww… This novel had the best romance!

Hmm, I have read a lot of great romance novels, but I think I would have to choose Anna and the French kiss by Stephanie Perkins.This book is just so adorable and romantic❤

Gummy Spiders – eek! You had to check under your bed every night for a week after reading this scary one.

Even though I love the horror genre (books only), I haven’t read that many scary books. I guess I would have to choose Say Her Name by  James Dawson. This book isn’t that creepy, but it sure made me quite wary of mirrors for a while.

Jumbo Lollipop – this took you ages to get through, but hey! You finished it!

I can’t really think of anything, so I guess I would have to say We Were Liars by  E. Lockhart. I wasn’t a real fan of this book, but I’m still happy I read this book.

Cotton Candy – Admit it, you loved this when you were younger (you probably still do). Think children’s or MG fiction.

I used to love the Dear Dumb Diary series when I was in primary schools.Oh, and I also loved the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series as well:)

Which Cover Wednesday #3

Hi everyone❤

Which Cover Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sue’s reading corner in which two different covers of the same book are compared to choose which one is better (in my opinion). Let’s begin:

  1. Weightless by Sarah Bannan

I just finished this book today! I really like the 2nd (right) cover, but I feel that the 1st (left) cover suits the theme of the novel better. Since I’m basing this on looks, I’m going to have to go with the 2nd cover.

2. The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This is an easy choice for me. No doubt about it, I choose the 1st (left) cover. Being completely honest….. I hate the 2nd (right) cover.

3.  The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

I like both of these covers. I think I prefer the 2nd (right) cover, as that is the cover that I originally read this book in.

That’s all for this week:) Have you read any of these books? Tell which book cover you prefer❤

“You don’t love someone because they’re perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.”
